Best NGO awarded to ACTAsia by Pet Fair Asia

We were honoured to receive such high acclaim this week for our dedicated efforts in Caring for Life Education, and in raising awareness of animal welfare in China through Ten Years of Veterinary Training.

ACTAsia CEO, Pei Su, was invited to the annual gala of Pet Fair Asia in Shanghai to collect the award in person. The five-day pet fair is a prime opportunity for ACTAsia to further promote our work among stakeholders in the pet industry, including veterinarians, veterinary associations, pet food companies and suppliers of pet accessories. Our stall at the event will introduce ACTAsia’s work through conversation with our esteemed CEO, through literature, films and a talk targeting the pet industry to support our Little Vets Camp CFL activities for children. Little Vets Camps help children to understand the true needs of pets, and how to approach other species with compassion and empathy.

“I am humbled that ACTAsia has received such high acclaim for our work,” Pei said. “We know from scientific evaluation of our work just how effective it is in helping the public develop a sense of empathy and responsiblity for fellow-humans, for our planet and for the animals we share it with. But it means a lot that our efforts are recognised on such a high-profile public platform. We’re really grateful to Pet Fair Asia for the chance to promote our work further, and we look forward to welcoming onboard new veterinarians and sponsors who can help us continue to achieve success.”

This is the second high-profile award ACTAsia has received this year. The first was a Charity Leadership Award in January, given by Jiemian Media Group, which Pei received alongside celebrity Jack Ma, founder of e-commerce giant Alibaba.
