ACTAsia’s 2024 Compassion in Fashion Forum: New Quality Productive Forces for a Sustainable Fashion Future

The Forum is part of ACTAsia’s 10th International Sustainable Fur Free Fashion Festival and the Shenzhen Fashion Week’s official agenda.

At this year’s Festival, TUYUE, a Fur Free Retailer member and a Chinese fashion brand that has incorporated Fur Free into its brand values since its inception, showcased it’s ethos through their show supported by ACTAsia at the SS2025 Shanghai Fashion Week.

In 2021, TUYUE joined the Fur Free Retailer scheme, driven by ACTAsia in China. As of September 2024, ACTAsia has successfully recruited 98 fashion brands in China to join the FFR.

We believe it is essential to drive the fashion industry toward a more innovative, environmentally friendly, and sustainable future.

In light of intensifying global climate change and increasingly scarce resources, we recognise that the fashion industry is not only a leader in future trends but also a crucial advocate for global sustainable development and a key force for social change.

Gemma A. Williams wrote an article for Forbes magazine, on Shanghai Fashion Week, mentioning TUYUE and ACTAsia.

Vogue China featured the TUYUE show, with some great pictures and Forbes China also wrote an article. Elle China published a comprehensive report on the forum, with pictures of our speakers.

An incredible 110 million viewers tuned into livestreams on SHFW’s official Douyin channel!

This year’s forum theme focused on how the topical New Quality Productive Forces can lead a sustainable transformation of the fashion industry, particularly through high-tech innovations that promote more eco-friendly, efficient, and sustainable fashion solutions.

We would like to thank all the speakers; their unique insights and creativity have enriched this forum. Special thanks also go to the ACTAsia team and the many volunteers whose selfless dedication made this event possible.

You can watch a full recording of the forum here (in Chinese with English translators), which, at 31.10.2024, has over 3 million media impressions.

Thanks are due also to the Shenzhen Garment Industry Association (SGIA), the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation, and Shenzhen Fashion Week for their collaboration and contributions to this forum.
