ACTAsia CEO receives Jiemian News award for leadership

This week in Beijing, Pei Su received the Charitable Leadership Award from Jiemian News, Shanghai Media group’s online platform.

This is a high-profile accolade for a small organisation, and reflects the remarkable level of recognition and respect achieved by ACTAsia’s education programmes in China.

Pei received the award alongside two notable public figures on the platform:

Yong Guan Xu, who initiated the China Youth Development Foundation and also Project Hope in 1988, is currently the co-founder and chairman of Narada Foundation, aiming to foster civil society and promote social innovation.

And Jack Ma, founder of e-commerce giant Alibaba, who was also awarded a leadership honor.

In addition to the award ceremony, Pei was invited by Jiemian News to host a sustainable fashion forum in Beijing. She presented a talk and led discussion on the subject of fur-free fashion, the welfare and environment impact of fur, and the impact of toxic fur on human health. This level of exposure in China is helping ACTAsia gain the public recognition it needs to continue its work, advocating kindness among children and compassion and responsibility among professionals and consumers at large.

‘This is the greatest honor for myself and for ACTAsia,’ said Pei Su, ‘And I share it with all who have supported me – the staff, donors and public supporters who have helped to make ACTAsia’s work possible.’
