ACTAsia is a non-profit organisation set up in 2006 by experienced Asian animal activists to develop and promote sustainable and professional animal advocacy. ACTAsia is currently based in India, Singapore and the United Kingdom.

ACTAsia draws heavily on the personal experience and learning of its members, who have worked locally within the Asian context and also as part of international efforts in Asia and elsewhere. There is, therefore, an emphasis on finding local solutions to issues, within the relevant country or regional parameters. There is also an organised effort to transfer knowledge from other social sectors and promote collaborations with these sectors. ACTAsia’s primary focus is on the individual, and includes the welfare of the individual in addition to campaign and organisational issues, in order to increase effectiveness and sustainability.
